Paulo BentoLviv (Ukraine): Portugal coach Paulo Bento said on Tuesday that he wants to remain in the post after Euro 2012, but his fate is in the hands of the Portuguese FA.

Bento replaced Carlos Quieroz in 2010, immediately taking the team to a 3-1 Euro qualifying victory over Denmark. The Danes may play a crucial role in his future as the two nations clash on Group B on Wednesday with the Portuguese needing a victory to remain in the competition.

"Even if we reach the final, I would never talk about my future, that is a decision for the Portuguese Football Confederation," Bento said.

In May, Bento, 42, signed a two-year contract extension after securing qualification for Euro 2012.

"My contract is for another two years and I want to stay," he said. "I want to fulfill it."

Portugal lost 1-0 to Germany in their opener last week, while Denmark beat the Netherlands by the same score in the biggest shock of the tournament so far. (IANS)
