London: Indian boxers had a good outing at the London Olympics, as after Devendro Singh it was Manoj Kumar’s turn to enter the pre-quarter finals of the men's boxing event in the 64 kg category.
Manoj defeated Serdar Hudayberdiyev of Turkemnistan 13-7 to cruise into the pre-quarters. Manoj started a bit slowly and both players were content on defending and the first round ended at a score of 2-2.
Manoj came all guns blazing in the second round and won that round 7-3.
Manoj after taking the lead never let his opponent to come back into the match and became the fifth Indian boxer to reach pre-quarters. He will now face Thomas Stalker of Great Britan.
