London: A ten member Indian Archery squad, four member weight lifting team and Beijing Olympic Gold Medalist Abhinav Bindra moved into the London Olympics Games Village and were welcomed by the Dy Chef de Mission of the Indian Contingent PK Muralidharan Raja.
The sprawling Olympic Games Village consists of 2,818 townhouses and apartments and can accommodate 15,000 residents.
The organizers have arranged for volunteers, with each Contingent, who have been trained for nearly six months. The Indian squad will be assisted by 7 NOC volunteers who are all Indian by origin but working in UK.
The Indian Contingent of 81 athletes and 51 officials has been provided accommodation in the Seaside Building S1named as Titan. Majority of the athletes and the officials are in the fifth, sixth and seventh floors of S1 Building and the others will be in townhouses adjacent to the building.
All athletes and officials will be given accommodation on twin sharing basis and each apartment has rooms which have two beds in each room.
Each apartment has been provided with a TV in the sitting lounge and the rooms have all the basic amenities including WIFI connection.
