New Delhi: Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has got another Co-Sponsor for its London bound contingent. Indo Nissin Foods Ltd (INFL) have signed an agreement with the IOA for their product “top Ramen” noodles, to be the co-sponsor of the squad.
IOA acting president Vijay Kumar Malhotra while welcoming this sponsorship expressed confidence that more industrial houses and entrepreneurs will come forward to be part of the Olympic Movement in the country by sponsoring more teams and players.
Prof Malhotra said that this is for the first time that IOA is spending all the money on the sponsorship money on the sports persons qualified for the London Olympics.
He said this is part of “our commitment we had made to the sports persons qualified for the Olympics that they will get their due share”.
Prof Malhotra also added that there is total transparency in the functioning of the IOA and all the sponsorship agreements are notified and explained.
He expressed confidence that qualified sports persons will live up to the expectations of the country. “I hope they will bring laurels to the Nation. We in IOA have kept our promise and we hope they (sports
persons) will keep theirs- that is to give their best at the Games”.
The Co-sponsorship agreement was signed by IOA Secretary General.
Randhir Singh and INFL managing director Yuji Tabeta. Prof Malhotra also commended Mr Anil Khanna chairman of IOA’s sponsorship committee for getting so many companies involved in the Olympic movement in the country.
Samsung and Amul are the principal sponsors of the IOA for London Games.
