Hinwil, 30 October: Beat Zehnder will leave Audi Revolut F1 Team at the end of December 2026 after 39 years with the Hinwil-based outfit. The team said his departure follows a restructuring of its operations ahead of the 2027 season.

Zehnder joined Sauber Motorsport in 1988 and was part of the sportscar programme that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the World Sportscar Championship in 1989 and 1990. He moved into Formula One with the team in 1993 and became Team Manager in 1994.

He joined the team’s Management Committee in 2018 and most recently led its heritage activities as Director Signature Programs and Operations.

He leaves with 36 World Sportscar Championship races and 601 consecutive Formula One races to his name. The team described him as a mentor to hundreds of staff and drivers who passed through Hinwil, and thanked him for 39 years of service.

Audi took over the former Sauber operation and entered Formula One as a works team in 2026. Its power unit is developed in Neuburg, Germany, while the chassis is designed and races are run from Hinwil, Switzerland.
