Hong Kong, 24 October 2026: India’s Anirban Lahiri goes into the final round of the Link Hong Kong Open sharing the lead after a three-under 66 on Saturday.

Lahiri is on 14 under with American John Catlin, Belgium’s Thomas Pieters and American Caleb Surratt. Catlin and Pieters shot 65s, and Surratt a 67, at the Hong Kong Golf Club.

Hong Kong’s Matthew Cheung, who began the day in front, shot 71 and is two shots back in a tie for fifth with Finland’s Kalle Samooja, whose 63 was the best round of the day. New Zealand’s Nick Voke is seventh, a further shot behind, after a 64.

Lahiri chasing first Asian Tour win since 2015

Lahiri made five birdies and one bogey. His most recent Asian Tour title was the Hero Indian Open in 2015, the year he won the Order of Merit before moving his focus to the PGA Tour. He opened the week with a 62 to share the first-round lead.

He expects Sunday to be harder. “Going to bed last night, I would have thought I had to get closer to 18 or 19 today, if the course played the way it did the first two days,” he said. “But today the course played completely different and tomorrow will probably be a tougher version of what we saw today.”

Lahiri, who played with Cheung on Saturday, said he understood the pressure on the local player. “I’ve been in his shoes trying to win Indian Opens and play in front of home crowd, and it’s tough. But I think he hung on pretty tough for not having his best today.”

Catlin saves par on the last

Catlin, the 2024 Order of Merit champion and a six-time Asian Tour winner, splashed out of the greenside bunker to two feet on the 18th to stay level at the top. He has not won on the Asian Tour since the 2024 Saudi Open.

No Hong Kong player has won the event in its 65-year history. Cheung, who made three bogeys before a birdie on the 17th, said he would have been delighted at the start of the week to be two shots off the lead going into Sunday.

The winner will earn 787.5 Order of Merit points and invitations to next year’s Masters Tournament and The Open.
