Abu Dhabi, September 25: Arabian Aces, a new franchise in the Abu Dhabi T10, have named former England all-rounder Moeen Ali as their Icon player and captain for their debut season.

West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell and England’s Liam Livingstone join him in the squad. Former South Africa all-rounder Lance Klusener is the head coach.

The tournament returns to Zayed Cricket Stadium from November 7 to 20. The UAE Bulls and Royal Desert Champions are already confirmed, with more announcements expected before the Official Player Draft in Abu Dhabi on September 30.

Owners and staff

The franchise is owned by a consortium led by British entrepreneur Pankaj Jain and global entrepreneur and investor Neeraj Jain. Shoeb Ahmed has been appointed Chief Operating Officer and will handle operations, commercial work and partnerships.

Pankaj Jain is the founder and CEO of Aaseya, a technology services company working in 13 countries. Neeraj Jain has more than 23 years of experience in technology, real estate, hospitality and investments across the US, India and the Middle East.

Klusener will run the team’s cricket strategy, preparation and performance with Moeen and the support staff. More player signings will follow.

What they said

Matt Boucher, CEO of Abu Dhabi Cricket and Sports Hub (ADCSH) and the Abu Dhabi T10, said: “With Moeen Ali, Andre Russell, and Liam Livingstone in the line-up and Lance Klusener leading the coaching set-up, there is a great deal for fans to look forward to.”

ADCSH now owns the tournament, and the 2026 edition has a refreshed set of franchises.

Pankaj Jain said: “Our ambition is to create a professionally managed franchise with a strong identity and a culture built around performance, ambition and teamwork. To begin that journey with Moeen, Andre and Liam, three players who have proven themselves at the highest levels of the game, together with someone of Lance Klusener’s calibre as Head Coach, gives us a tremendous foundation.”

Neeraj Jain added: “We have started with a strong cricketing structure and some exceptional talent, but this is about much more than one season. Our aim is to build a franchise with its own character, a commitment to excellence and a long-term presence in Abu Dhabi.”
