Pro kabaddi League: Patna Pirates all set to defend title with inclusion of Service players Surjeet Singh and Anil Kumari

New Delhi: Two players from Services -- Surjeet Singh and Anil Kumari -- have joined patna Pirates for the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) which begins at Pune on June 25.

Mashal Sports and the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI) hosted the Indian Defence Services players’ allocation and selection process for Season 4. The league, in its fourth season organized the Services Players’ draft process, in alignment with the Services Sports Controlled Board (SSCB) and the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI), which received a strong positive response from participating franchises.

The allocation of players was executed by an Open Draw Process whereby a designated representative from each of the eight teams participated in the draw of lots. A total of 15 players were picked across these eight teams from a pool of 24 players.

Keeping view of the performances in the past season the services players Surjeet Singh and Anil Kumar will definitely add to the formidable new and young squad of Patna Pirates. The Franchise is upbeat with their inclusion in the sqaud as these players were a major boost to their teams in Season 3 with their numerous successful tackles and raids

Talking about the services players Patna Pirates CEO, Pawan Rana said, “The participation of top players from services in season 4 will bring more competitiveness to the league and for us with inclusion of Surjeet known for his dashing raids along with Anil, a well known defender will definitely challenge the opponents and help us defend our championship tittle in the upcoming season"
