London: 27-year old, Indian Forward, Danish Mujtaba, completed his 150th international game today as Indian Team locks horns with Germany in the opening game of the FIH Men’s Champions Trophy in London. Danish who made his debut for the Indian Hockey Team in 2009, hails from the city of Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh and is a product of the Delhi-based Air India-SAI Hockey Academy.
Mujtaba has been a core member of Indian Hockey Team that won the Silver medal at the 25th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2016, Malaysia, Bronze Medal – Hero Hockey World League Final 2015, Gold Medal – 17th Asian Games 2014, and Silver Medal – XX Commonwealth Games 2014.
Md Mushtaque Ahmad, Secretary General, Hockey India was all praise for Mujtaba on his 150th appearance: “Danish has represented India on the international stage for a long time and is one of the key members of the team. As one of the senior members, his presence in the squad is extremely valuable. I congratulate him and wish him good luck for all his future games and hope he continues to make us proud.”
