Milan: Real Madrid got the better of Atletico Madrid in penalty shootout to be crowned champions of Europe for the 11th time, in Milan on Saturday. Cristiano Ronaldo scored the winning penalty in a 5-3 shootout victory after the Uefa Champions League final had finished 1-1 following extra time.
Sergio Ramos' put Real Madrid ahead before Atletico substitute Yannick Carrasco drew parity for his team, sending the Champions League final into extra-time
Lucas Vazquez, Marcelo and Gareth Bale scored for Real, while Griezmann, Gabi and Saul Niguez made it 3-3 for Atletico. However, Ramos made it 4-3 after Atletico’s Juanfran hit the post, leaving Ronaldo with the chance to win the cup.
Ronaldo did not disappoint his team-mates and his fans as he scored to give Real Madrid their 11th and his third individual Champions League triumph.
