Mumbai: Yuvraj Singh has been ruled out of the World T20 after twisting his ankle during India’s last Super 10 game against Australia in Mohali.
The southpaw will be replaced by Manish Pandey. According to a report in the Bcci.tv, the ICC has confirmed that the Event Technical Committee has approved Pandey as a replacement player for Yuvraj in India's squad for the remainder of the tournament.
The 26-year-old Pandey has played two T20Is, which were against Zimbabwe in Harare in July last year. He has also played four ODIs and scored a match-winning century (104 not out) against Australia during India’s tour Down Under earlier this year in the final ODI.
Hosts India, champions of the inaugural edition in 2007, will face 2012 winners the West Indies in the second semi-final in Mumbai on Thursday at 7.00 pm IST.
