Mumbai: Sixty-four girls’ teams qualified for the knockout phase in three different sections on the third day of the 7th QPR South Mumbai Junior Soccer Challenger 2015 at the Western Railway Sports Complex in Mahalaxmi, Mumbai.
A total of over 1160 girls representing over 145 teams of Private and Municipal Schools were in action in the Under-12, 14 and 16 age groups.
All the teams played at least two matches each, totalling up to 188 games which were played on five pitches with each playing hosting more than 50 games throughout the day.
In the Under-12 section, NSS Hill Spring International, JBCN International ‘A’, St. Annes Girls School ‘A’, JB Petit ‘A’ and Bombay International School ‘A’, were few of the 16 teams who qualified for the knockouts.
Meanwhile, in the Under-14 section, Christ Church International School, Adarsh Nagar UP English, Shiwari Koliwada UP Municipal School, St. Anne’s Girls School, JBCN International ‘A’, JB Petit School ‘A’, Bombay International School and Sitaram Mull Compound UP Marathi School, were a few among 32 teams to qualify for the knockouts.
Elsewhere, in the Under-16 section, Bombay International Team ‘A’, JB Petit School ‘B’, Christ Church School, Convent of Jesus & Mary Fort, Naigaon Municipal Secondary, Aditya Birla World Academy, Baradevi Municipal Secondary Marathi School ‘A’ and Sacred Heart School, Worli, were few of the 16 teams who qualified for the knockouts.
