Tokyo: Ace Indian tennis player Sania Mirza and her Spanish partner Nuria Llagostera Vives were knocked out in the first round of the Toray Pan Pacific Open after losing to Darija Jurak and Katalin Marosi here today.
The second seeded Indo-Spanish duo lost 0-6 6-4 8-10 to the Croat-Hungarian pair.
Sania and Nuria who could not win a single game in the first set made a good comeback in the next set but then lost steam in the tie-breaker.
