London: It was business as usual for Indian tennis ace Saina Nehwal as she smashed her way into the women’s badminton singles at the London Olympics at the Wembley Arena on Wednesday.
Saina into her second straight of the Olympics quarters finals defeated Yao Jie of the Netherlands 21-14, 21-16.
Saina who has remained unchallenged in the tournament and yet to drop a game followed the suit in this match also.
It looked like the fourth seeded Indian would face a stiff challenge but then she just walked through the match.
She started off on a dominating note and she took a lead of 10-4. Saina was in her full array and her disguised drop shots were too much for the 11th seeded Chinese origin Dutch player to handle. She eventually won the game 21-14.
After the change of ends, the 11th seeded Jie at a point of time lead 8-5 due to some dogged play, but then she could not extend the lead further as the Indian made a comeback and to go ahead.
The Dutch kept her hopes alive and did crawl back her way into the match, but could not deny the inevitable.
