Super Saina defeats Ratchanok to win Thailand OpenBangkok: Saina Nehwal defeated Ratchanok Inthanon from Thailand 19-21, 21-15, 21-10 in the finals to win the Thailand Open Grand Prix Gold title. This is Saina’s second title of this year as she won Swiss Open earlier in the year.

World number five Saina would have hoped for a relatively easy final but it was never to be that as her opponent and local favorite Inthanon took the attack and grabbed the early lead in the first game. She won the first game and took the early advantage over her more fancied opponent.

Saina needed to win the second game to be in the match and she started pretty well. Her play at the net was simply superb and she outplayed her Thai opponent in that department. Saina also thrived on the mistakes that her opponent made and won the game quite comfortably in the end.

The third set saw Saina at her best, she dominated her 17 year old opponent and showed all her experience. She took a massive lead and finished off the game in style. The win will give Saina a lot of confidence going into the London Olympics as she is one of the prime contenders for India to win an Olympic medal.
