Colombo: Indian players have confirmed all colour medals in the ongoing Asian Billiards Championship 2016 at Colombo. Defending champion Dhruv Sitwala has entered the final of Asian Billiards and is just a match away from securing the title that he won last year. Dhruv reached the final defeating current world no.3 and his compatriot Siddharth Parikh 5-3.
Siddharth was in good form and obtained initial lead of 2-1 which he raised to 3-2 but after that Dhruv bounced back heavily and showered three breaks of 70, 100 and 66 to win next three games in a row to secure the match.
He will now take on another Indian player B. Bhaskar, who reached the final defeating weighty players like 15 time world champion, Pankaj Advani in quarter-final and former multiple time world champion, Peter Gilchrist in semi final.
With all these performances, Indian have secured all three medals i.e. Bronze to Siddharth Parikh and Gold, Silver to either of them.
The icing on cake is another bronze medal which is secured by Junior player Ishpreet Chadha who reached the semi final stage of Asian under-21 and lost to Wang Yuchen of China 1-5.
