Toronto based Raptors 905 acquire Sim Bhullar

New Delhi: Raptors 905 of the NBA Development League have acquired Toronto-born centre Sim Bhullar. The Raptors’ D-League affiliate got the rights to the 7-foot-5 centre from the Reno Bighorns in exchange for the rights to guard Ricky Ledo.

Bhullar, who stands seven-foot-five, spent the season season with the Sacramento Kings and their Reno Bighorns farm team in the NBA D-league.

Last season, the centre averaged 10.3 points, 8.8 rebounds and 3.9 blocks in 39 games with Reno. The 22-year-old is the first player of Indian descent to play in NBA game.

Bhullar is a native of Brampton, Ontario, which is in the greater Toronto area. This will be the Raptors 905's first season in the D-League and play their home games in Mississauga, Ontario, which is also in the greater Toronto area, and play select home games at the Air Canada Centre, the Toronto Raptors' home arena.

He was also a part of Canada’s silver-medal team at the Pan American Games.
