Srinagar: The Pro-Am event of the PGTI Kashmir Masters presented by KEO was won by professional Shankar Das and his team at the Royal Springs Golf Course in Srinagar on Sunday. Amateur golfers from Jammu & Kashmir and other parts of the country competed at the Pro-Am event.
The Pro-Am was played in the team scramble format where the team’s best ball was chosen on every shot including the putting green. After the best ball was chosen all other players were to place their ball within one Score Card Length before continuing play. Each team consisted of one professional and three amateurs. A minimum of three drives of each player were chosen for the team score.
PGTI member Shankar Das led his team to victory with a score of 55.2. Shankar’s won on the basis of a count-back. Das’ team comprised of amateurs M Y Khan, Mushtaq Burza and Suneer Jain.
PGTI member Jyoti Randhawa’s team finished second with a score of 55.2. Randhawa’s team comprised of amateurs Ghalib Mohi-ud-Din Shah, Javed Bakshi and Rufaid Fazli.
Ghalib Mohi-ud-Din Shah won the prize for the closest shot to the pin on hole no. 5 where his tee shot landed within 11 feet of the pin.
The prize for the longest drive on hole no. 18 was won by Advait Luthra whose drive landed at a distance of 330 yards.
