Uttar Pradesh: Athlete from Uttar Pradesh bagged six medals till now including five Gold and one bronze on opening day of Para National Athletics Championships 2012. Paralympic Committee of Uttar Pradesh fielded 10 athletes in the Nationals.This is the first time when new committee of UP fielded the athletes in any National meet.

J.P. Singh, President gave his warm wishes to all the athletes and announced 5000 Rs. Cash prize to all medal winners.

He also addressed media and said he will request to UP Government to make a policy for para athletes to honor them by giving cash prizes as other states.

Haryana is giving Rs. 3, 2, 1 Lakh (Gold, Silver, Bronze) to all medal winners.
