Thongchai wins Hilton Asian Tour Golfer of The Month for November

Sentosa, Singapore: Thailand’s Thongchai Jaidee, a three-time Asian Tour Order of Merit champion, has been voted as the Hilton Asian Tour Golfer of Month for November.

The Thai, who holds 13 victories on the region’s premier Tour, won the popular online votes by fans after producing a string of impressive results.

He enjoyed a tied-11 finish at the WGC-HSBC Champions and continued to create an impact with a tied-third result at the BMW Masters also held in Shanghai.

The three-time Asian Tour Order of Merit winner was also in contention in Dubai before he ended the week tied for 31st.

“I’m delighted to win the Hilton Asian Tour Golfer of the Month. I always give my best whenever I play and it’s nice to know that I’ve been recognised by the fans for my efforts and results,” said Thongchai, who rose to a career high of 29 in the world rankings after these sterling performances in November.

As part of Hilton Worldwide’s (NYSE: HLT) newest partnership with the region’s premier Tour, the Asian Tour Hilton Golfer of the Month award aims to recognise outstanding efforts of Asian Tour members both at home and abroad.

The online voting contest on www.asiantour.hiltongolf.com to determine the monthly winner, engages golf fans as they vote for their favourite golfer through the Asian Tour’s media channels, culminating with fans voting for the Asian Tour Hilton Golfer of the Year at the end of 2015.

Besides casting their vote for their favourite player on the Asian Tour, fans, who log onto www.asiantour.hiltongolf.com also stand a chance to win a one night stay at any Hilton property of the choice.

Thongchai won the award ahead of compatriot Danthai Boonma and Korea’s Jeunghun Wang. The trio were nominated by a selection panel before going into a voting process.

Danthai underlined his credentials as one of Asia’s promising young talents when he earned his maiden breakthrough at the demanding World Classic Championship at Laguna National while Wang continued to knock on the winner’s circle door by battling his way into contention at the same event before eventually finishing third which was also his best finish on the Asian Tour.
