New Delhi: Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Youth Affairs and Sports Vijay Goel on Tuesday has congratulated Deepa Malik for scripting history by winning silver medal in shotput at Paralympics 2016. In a message, he said continuous success of para athletes at Rio has made country proud.
He said, he has personally requested the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to meet and bless the entire Indian contingent currently participating at Paralympics 2016 once they return home after the games.
Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has already announced a cash prize of Rs. 75 lakhs, 50 Lakh and 30 Lakh respectively for Gold, Silver and Bronze Medal winners at the ongoing Paralympics at Rio.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had congratulated Deepa Malik who scripted history by winning silver medal in Shotput at Paralympics 2016. "Well done Deepa! Your silver at the Paralympics makes the nation very proud. Congratulations,” the Prime Minister said.
