Pro Kabaddi League: Bengaluru Bulls edge Puneri Paltan 29-27

Bengaluru Bulls vs Puneri PaltanBengaluru Bulls recorded a fine victory over PuneriPaltan in a closely contested affair as they won 29-27. Mohit Chhillar was in great form in defence as he scored six points whereas Rohit Kumar turned the game in the last minute with a super raid and ended up with eight points.

Bengaluru Bulls gained a spot in the league table and jumped to fifth position with 13 points from four games. PuneriPaltan suffered their second defeat of the season but remain top of the table with 20 points after six games.

Deepak NiwasHooda scored a super raid in the third minute as PuneriPaltan led 3-1 and reduced Bengaluru Bulls to four men. Ajay Rathi scored two points in the sixth minute for the Bulls to tie the game at 3-3. PuneriPaltan raiders were kept quiet by the Bulls defence as they could register only one successful raid in the first 10 minutes. Surprisingly ManjeetChhillar attempted his first raid in the 11th minute as PuneriPaltan trailed 6-4. Deepak NiwasHooda and AmitRathi scored a point apiece in the 14th minute, as the teams were tied 7-7. Bulls’ defence did a fine job on PuneriPaltan raiders – ManjeetChhillar didn’t score a single point -- as they led 10-8 at the end of first half.

SonuNarwal scored two points with his first raid in the 22nd minute as PuneriPaltan led 11-10. Mohit Chhillar was in commanding form for the Bengaluru Bulls as they continued to dry up points for PuneriPaltan. Their defence, however, forced two super tackle as they tied the game at 15-15 in the 30th minute. Ajay Tomar scored a super raid in the following minute to give PuneriPaltan a three-point lead. ManjeetChhillar finally scored his first raid point in the 32nd minute as PuneriPaltan led 20-16. Bengaluru Bulls defence continued to shine as they forced a super tackle to tie the game at 20-20. With less than five minutes to go, Bengaluru forced another super tackle to lead 22-21.

PuneriPaltan inflicted an all in the 39th minute to lead 26-23 but Rohit Kumar scored a raid point in the last minute to make it 26-25. Kumar then followed it with an excellent super raid with 28 seconds to go as the Bulls led 28-26. Rohit Kumar continued his hot streak and scored another raid point to turn the match in Bengaluru Bulls’ favour to record an excellent victory.
