Pune: Australian middle-order batsman George Bailey has been called up by Rising Pune Supergiants as the replacement for South African Faf du Plessis, who was ruled out of the IPL season with an injury. The Pune side had earlier roped in Aussie opener Usman Khawaja as Kevin Pietersen's replacement.
And so my Ipl tournament unfortunately comes to and end. Broken finger and out for 6 weeks. Thanx India and @RPSupergiantsit's been fun.?????

Rising Pune Supergiants are constantly battling injury woes as the side has already lost their four-star players so far in the tournament. Before Faf, RPS lost the dynamic English batsman Kevin Pietersen due to a calf tear, Aussie all-rounder Mitchell Marsh (side strain) and Steven Smith (wrist injury) who followed the suit.
Rising Pune Supergiants will be George Bailey’s third outfit in the Indian Premier League, as he has already represented ex-franchise Chennai Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab in the earlier seasons of the glitterati league. In fact, Bailey captained the Mohali-based franchise in the 2014 and 2015 season of the IPL. He has so far played 34 matches in IPL and has scored 579 runs at a strike rate of 130.
