Mohali: Mohali Golf Range held its first its full fledged 1st Golf Tournament the “Castle Sports Open Golf Tournament” with 107 players, including boys and girls in the juniors , sub-juniors, boys ,girls ,amateurs and seniors, members and non-members categories on its “Par -2 Pitch and Putt Golf Course” at the Mohali Golf Range in Sector 65, SAS Nagar on Sunday.
This Open Golf Tournament was held to celebrate the completion of one year of the golf academy at Mohali Golf Range and attractive prizes and participation certificates were given to all the participants by chief guest Sarvesh Kaushal, Chief Secretary, Government of Punjab.
Inter School and Inter Golf Club Category were also held and teams from Chandigarh Golf Club, CGA , Panchkula Golf Club, Forest Hills Golf Resort and SEPTA Chandimandir participated in the toruanement.
The highlight of the tournament was the first ever “Hole in One” of the Mohali Golf Range Course by 6-year-old Mahika Garg on the 40 yards 7th hole . According to Harmeet Kahlon, international golf professional winner and director of the golf academy, “We wanted to give an opportunity to the players, especially children of the region to experience competitive golf in a small but professional way before they begin to participate in national tournaments.”
Mohali Golf Range was recently nominated’ for the India Golf Expo 2016 ‘ Best Driving Range’ Award.
