Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) would host the table toppers Delhi Daredevils (DD) in the 69th matchup of the Indian Premier League V at the Dharamsala. The match is of great importance to KXIP because they would require to win this match to stay alive in the competition whereas for Delhi Daredevils it is a match in which they are expected to test their bench as they have already made it to the play-offs.

So stakes would be high for Punjab and they are coming into a match after defeating the defending champions Chennai Super Kings at the same venue two days back. Momentum would be on their side but the considering the fact that Delhi won the match last time they met and also their current form, nothing much can be predicted.

Kings XI Punjab:

Adam Gilchrist: He scored a match winning half century against the Chennai Super Kings in their last match. He came into the match after an injury lay-off but did pick up his performance very fast and was not looking bothered by his injury at all. Even though he was not at his aggressive best in the last match, he still was fluent and scored at strike of more than 130. His ability to change the game on his own is known to everyone and Sehwag would be wary of that.

David Hussey: David Hussey has been one of the most important reasons why Punjab has been performing so well in the tournament. He has played some good match winning knocks. Hussey is a brilliant finisher and Punjab will need a good innings from him.

Azhar Mahmood: He has been bowling brilliantly for the Kings XI and has taken some of the more important wickets. Mahmood is a very experienced when it comes to playing T20 cricket and his bowling has made a lot of difference for his team. He is also very dangerous with the bat and can win the game with his batting.

Parvinder Awana: He was the toast of the Punjab’s bowlers in the last match. The way the ball was swinging, it made it almost unplayable. He would bowling on the same pitch again today and if he bowls in the same manner, he sure would trouble Delhi’s devastating top order batsmen.

Delhi Daredevils:

David Warner: He is one of the most devastating players in the world. He has already made an impression in this year’s IPL with a superb ton. Warner looks to attack right from the first ball and is very effective with that. Warner is dangerous against any opposition as he can destroy the bowling plans for any team.

Virender Sehwag: He has been the most menacing batsmen in this season. He has the all time best strike rate in IPLs and he is playing like a man on mission. Sehwag has single-handedly won Delhi many matches and it is because of his efforts that Delhi is on the top of the table. Punjab will know it that they have to get rid of Delhi if they want to win the match. He missed out of the last match but is expected to come back in this match.

Morne Morkel: Morkel has been bowling well throughout the tournament. Morkel has taken 21 wickets this season and is tied with Lasith Malinga and Sunil Narine for the purple cap. He has looked almost unplayable at times. He is very threatening with the new ball and can bowl some steep bouncers.

Umesh Yadav: Yadav has bowled well in patches, but the biggest problem for Delhi has been that he has been inconsistent and has been conceding far too many runs for his wickets. Yadav has a deadly Yorker and can take some important wickets if and when needed.
