Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will start their campaign against the Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday. The Daredevils have already played a match in which they defeated Kolkata Knight Riders comprehensively. In a shortened match, the Daredevils bowlers bowled superbly to make it an easy work for their batting unit. Going into the match, Sehwag & Co will know that they are meeting one of the title contenders in the form of RCB.

RCB have been one of the most consistent sides and have reached the semifinals three consecutive times. RCB have featured in two IPL finals and this time around they will look to better that by taking the final stride. Some very exciting talent will be on display in today’s match as both the teams have some world class performers in their side. Let’s have a look at some of the players from both the sides who can mesmerize today’s crowd.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

Chris Gayle: The orange cap winner from the last time is one of the most explosive batsmen in world cricket. He will open the innings and is capable of playing some breath-taking shots. Gayle was the sole reason why Bangalore reached the finals last year and he will be looking to repeat the influence he had last year. The controversy between him and the WICB will give another motive to this Caribbean King to show how capable he is. If Delhi has to win they will have to dismiss Gayle early or he will take the game away from them.

Virat Kohli:
One of the most prolific run-scorer from the recent time will like to make his intentions clear from the first match. Kohli has played some magical innings for India and will be looking to do that for his franchise. Kohli can hit a ball a long distance and it is his consistency that makes him a force. A lot is expected from this superstar and he will be a player to watch out for, not in this match but for the complete tournament.

Zaheer Khan:
India’s pace spearhead is coming after a long break. He was one of the shining points in India’s two dismal tours. Zaheer is a world class performer and has been India’s premier fast bowler from a long time. Last season he was not able to make much influence and he will be raring to go this time. The Bangalore wicket will provide him some pace to work with and it will be his responsibility to get Virender Sehwag’s wicket.

Daniel Vettori:
The RCB captain provides calming influence to his team. He is the best left-arm spinner in the world and has the ability to bowl well at critical stage. Vettori has one of the best economy-rate in T20 cricket and his experience can do wonders for his team. He has a classical bowling action and depends on his flight and guile to deceive batsmen. It’s a treat watching him bowl and the Daredevils will have to be very careful against him.

Delhi Daredevils:

Virender Sehwag: He is always a threat no matter what format he is playing or where he is playing. Sehwag missed out against the KKR and will be looking to make an impact early in the tournament. He looks focused and has a lot of responsibilities on his shoulders. RCB will have to get him out early or else they will always be behind the eight ball. IF RCB has Gayle than Delhi’s Sehwag is no less.

Aaron Finch: This Australian batsman did get a start in the match against KKR but was not able to carry-on. Finch will open alongside his captain and will be looking to get early advantage for his team. He hits the ball hard and can send a ball a long distance. Finch will have to make some good contribution before his more fancied teammates join the team, otherwise he may lose out his place.

Irfan Pathan:
Pathan was the star performer for Delhi in their win against KKR. He was getting some good swing and got crucial wickets for his side. With the bat he guided Delhi’s chase and took them home comfortable. Delhi will expect the same performance from this talented all-rounder.

Morne Morkel: Morkel announced himself in Delhi’s first match. Morkel got two wickets in two balls and bowled a fiery spell. The tall fast bowler ripped through the KKR’s batting order and was the main reason for them not reaching a substantial score. Morkel looked in great rhythm and will be looking to bowl with the same pace. It will be very interesting to see him bowl against Chris Gayle.
