The season just got interesting for Liverpool FC. With a chance to win a their first silverware under Klopp and a Europa League round of 16 tie against their fiercest rivals Manchester United, their season of rebuilding just took an upward turn.
First things first, on Sunday Liverpool will take on Manchester City in the Capital One Final at Wembley. It's their first final since 2012. The final tomorrow represent a great opportunity for both the sides to get their first trophy of 2015/2016.
Manuel Pellegrini's City remain in touching distance of the Premier League title, chasing Leicester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, while Liverpool still have faint hopes of a top-four finish this season.
This Sunday, however, both Manuel Pellegrini and Jurgen Klopp will be focused solely on Wembley Stadium, as they battle for honors in the League Cup.
With the likes of Kevin De Bruyne out and less likely chance of Joe Hart playing, Liverpool should fancy their chances of winning the final. Sturridge, Coutinho and Firmino all started in Thursday's win over Ausburg, but as seen in last couple of matches with these three leading the attack, Liverpool play on a different level and all three should surely start in the final .
Irrespective of what happens at Wembley, Liverpool still have high hopes in another tournament - the Europa League. This season, the 2nd most prestigious European League will have its most prestigious match till date when Liverpool take on Manchester United on March 10 and 17.
Liverpool lost both their Premier League matches against ManU this year and will be looking to extract some revenge against their oldest foe. ManU on the other hand have had an up and down season and have been criticised a lot by their own fans for the style of play adopted under LVG with many people calling for him to be sacked .
On the other hand, Liverpool have had a drill season and should fancy their chances of reaching the final of the Europa Cup if they defeat United over the course of the two legs .
With a chance of winning two cups and a chance of defeating two Manchester Clubs in less than a forth night, Liverpool's season just got very Interesting.
