“We focus both on academics and sports in equal measure. This school was started in 1981 by Sardar Balraj Singh Shergill. His motive was to give good education to the children of people living in its vicinity. It has been 35 years now and the school has been serving the people with dedication,” said Iqbal Singh Shergill, the director of the school.
“We have been able to serve our purpose as many of our students are doctors, engineers, judges and few have even excelled in sports and entertainment sector,” said the director, adding that some known names in cricketing fraternity, including Manpreet Gony, Sunny Sohel and Gurkirat Singh have passed out from Paragon, Sector 71, Mohali. “Sukhvinder Singh Tinku is the coach of our cricket academy, which is gaining ground among the cricket aspirants,” he said.
The director added that the school also has good facilities for other sports like taekwondo, football. “We have individual coaches for these disciplines. We will also be starting basketball shortly,” said Iqbal Singh Dhaliwal, adding that the renovation was going on in the school.
“We have already introduced Smart School concept with projections and all modern facilities. We are also starting Paragon Kids – our New Play Way School from the new session. For this we have brought the equipment from OK toys. We have AC Classes for the kids. The Play Way School will have World Class infrastructure. Our Play Way concept is Fun-Learn-Grow. We hope that it will be one of the best Playway Schools in Mohali,” he said.
“Other notable names to pass out from the school include singers Sherry Mann, AK and model-cum-actress Kamalpreet Kaur,” he informed.
