Bangalore: Capping off another successful outing in the pool, Captain of the Karnataka team Damini Gowda won gold in her third event, clocking a time of 2:24.06 in the 200 Metre Butterfly, Girls Category on the second day of the Junior National Aquatic Championships in Bangalore. Coming in second was her Team Speedo India member, Trisha Karkhanis from Maharashtra, who clocked a time of 2:32.53 to clinch silver in the same event.
Swimming in the Speedo LZR Racer Suit, Damini was happy about her winning streak and hoped for it to continue. "I am very delighted that I was able to put in a good performance for my team today as well. I always aim to finish first in all my events."
Trisha was both proud of her Speedo counterpart and happy about her own performance. "I knew Damini will give me good competition and she did, which made it a competitive race. I am looking forward to putting in a better performance."
