New Delhi: India’s best bet Pankaj Advani ended his journey at the Asian Snooker Championship 2016, as he lost to Thai player Kritsanut Lertsattayathorn 3-5 in the semi finals on Friday.
Though Kritsanut began by winning the first frame but winning the match was far more difficult task as Advani countered him well throughout the semi final. During the course, Kritsanut also scored highest break of the championship 142 in third frame, but Advani replied immediately with breaks of 94 and 90 in fourth and sixth frame to come at par 3-3.
The seventh frame was crucial for Advani having come back to equalize the score but he failed to keep up the winning streak and went down 3-4. In the do or die frame for Pankaj, after many safe shots, a loose safety by him allowed Kritsanut to score a mini break of 30. But Pankaj came back with his own mini break scoring 20 but he missed the red pot and once again began the sfety game. Eventually it was Kritsanut who was the victor and now meet Mohammed Shehab of UAE in the finals, who knocked out Amir Sarkhosh 5-1.
