IPL has always been about excitement and enthusiasm. It has always given us enthralling sporting moments that get us on the edge of our seats every time we watch a match. Watching a young unfamiliar lad bowl to a top batsman or face a top bowler intrigues us to the highest degree. We don't see such instances much often but this platform makes that happen. IPL has made unknown faces of yesterday the poster boys of today. It has made a superstar out of blokes who were never discussed in newspapers or on prime time sports shows. It's hard to forget the miracle journeys of R. Ashwin or Yusuf Pathan, both who made it big in the national team and were noticed because of this tournament.
This year, like every year, IPL 2016 has brought us some raw exciting talents- ones who show great promise. The shining star of 2016 is, without a glimmer of doubt, Krunal Pandya. The senior Pandya was all set to make it big before a shoulder injury in 2015 caused a major debacle in his budding career.
But, he came back strong and scored a triple ton just before IPL, consistent performances saw him being demanded by many franchises. His Mumbai Indians teammate and captain Rohit Sharma went on to say that the elder Pandya is a vital cog in their machinery. Sharma also accredited MI's victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore to Krunal Pandya saying that he ensured that the total is restricted.
Another player who came from nowhere and is delivering well is Rishabh Pant. This Delhi Daredevils opener and keeper is contributing well to the team and also brings a stable predicament withing the team's ranks- something that is priceless for a teenager! There are many talents right now in IPL to take the world by storm, but these two are on top and with the kind of performances they have put up, there are hardly any competitors.
It's no secret that these two will be the top contenders for the prestigious IPL emerging player award that has been held by many promising youngsters of yesterday who are the stars of today.
