New Delhi: The Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Football Academy clinched the 3rd Delhi Soccer Association ( DSA ) Inter-Academy Football tournament by defeating Garhwal Heroes FA 2 - 0 in the final held at CWG Village Sports Complex, DDA, Akshardham on Sunday.
Medio Jyoti Hiraka opened the score 1 - 0 in the 21st minute while striker S Biswajit scored 2 - 0 in the 35th minute of the initial half proceedings. On changing ends, Garhwal Heroes FA got many goal scoring chances but rival goalkeeper saved many goal scoring chances from close.
Best disciplined trophy was awarded to Ahbab FA. Fifteen outstanding under-17 players spotted out of the tournament were recommended to the AIFF for inclusion in the probables’ list of Indian U-17 cup squad for consideration.
The guest of honour, namely former Olympian SS Hakeem, South Delhi Member of Parliament Ram Veer Bidhur, East Delhi DCP BNhairon Singh (IPS ) and former Indian cricketer Surinder Khanna, who were present on the occasion, distributed prizes to the winners and runners-up.
