The early kick off this Saturday is the North London Derby. It is an exciting clash between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, a clash between 2nd and 3rd. This competition is always fierce, exciting and never ever short of drama. The players always look to deliver and keep the derby as entertaining as possible and of course the great support of the fans which makes every football game memorable.
Three players to look out for this weekend (home side): Harry Kane, Toby Alderweireld and Hugo Lloris
Harry Kane has featured in all of the 28 Spurs games this season, scoring sixteen goals in the Premier League and 19 in all competitions. The English International has been a key figure in Spurs’ excellent run this season. He doesn’t work on doing anything fancy. He has a passion for the game and loves scoring goals and does that exceptionally well.
Toby Alderweireld has been an excellent buy for Tottenham this season. He was bought for around €16 million and never fell short of his price tag. He has been solid in defence and will be a very important player during the Saturday clash against an attack minded Arsenal side.
Hugo Lloris, the Spurs goalkeeper, has been a vital player for the club throughout this season, having kept nine clean sheets in 27 appearances, only three behind Arsenal’s Petr Cech, who is on top of the list. He is considered as an attacking goalkeeper as he comes off his line quite often to punch the ball away. He possesses huge strength and has a good eye helping him to judge the direction of the ball well.
Three players to look out for this weekend (away side): Francis Coquelin, Mesut Ozil and Olivier Giroud
Francis Coquelin the French international will be a key figure, especially since Koscielny is missing in defence due to an injury. Coquelin will have to step up his game in order he can stop Christian Eriksen from going forward and making those key passes to the Spurs’ strikers.
Mesut Ozil has been an influential player in the Arsenal side ever since he made his move to England from Spain. He has already secured 18 assists this season so far and with 10 more games to play, he would be looking to break the premier league record of the most assists in a season, which is currently held by former Arsenal player Thierry Henry at 20. He will be looking to put pressure on the Spurs side and ensure his side emerge victorious.
Olivier Giroud is a very tough player and is a huge aerial threat. He will look to capitalise as much as he can from the corners to assure his side of goals. He carries a lot of strength and is determined player, allowing him to play to the best of his ability.
The North London derby is a vital game this season. Victory for Arsenal will put them level with Spurs on points. However, Spurs will look to push three points clear and keep their arch-rivals a distance apart, keeping the title race wide open and competitive.
