After Thursday’s amazing win against Kings XI Punjab, Kolkata Knight Riders will take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad at Eden Gardens in Kolkata for Indian Premiere League’s match number 14.
The morale of KKR will be high after the win against KXIP. Meanwhile, after they lost their previous match, SRH will be definitely look for a win to keep themselves in reckoning.
Here are the players to watch out for in the match:
Kolkata Knight Riders:
Gautam Gambhir – The orange cap holder this season, He has scored most runs and most fifties in this IPL 10. He is the man who is leading KKR from the front. He has been the MR. Fabulous for Kolkata Knight Riders over the years. He is the main reason why Kolkata Knight Riders won the IPL title twice. If KKR want to lift the title for the third time, then Gambhir will have to lead from the front. He has been the backbone KKR batting. He is the one who can handle the swing of Aashish Nehra, Bhuneshwar Kumar and Mustifizur Rahaman. Among the batsmen it’s Gambhir who plays spin very well and don’t be surprised if Rashid Khan goes for runs in their match against KKR.
Sunil Narine – Everyone was expecting Robin Uthappa to open the innings with Gautam Gambhir in their last match against KXIP. But their expectations turned into a shock when they saw Sunil Narnie opened the batting with skipper Gambhir. Even the KXIP wasn’t prepared for this. That’s why their bowlers leaked runs. Now with bowling, Narnie has shown his class in his batting too. His partnership of 76 and his knock of 37 from just 18 balls did the job for KKR. Now Narnie is the all-rounder for KKR and he will be expected to repeat such performance with the bat more often.
Umesh Yadav – In his comeback match, he bagged four important wickets and helped his team to restrict Kings XI to a decent total. After a good start made by the KXIP it was Umesh Yadav’s spell which brought KKR back in the game. Among bowlers, Umesh is the bowler who can take give KKR the breakthroughs.
Robin Uthappa – The seasoned opening partner for Gambhir hasn’t got the chance to play at his position till now. If he gets a chance to open then Uthappa, for sure, would love to make this opportunity count.
Sunrisers Hyderabad:
Rashid Khan – The Afghan bowler is the second highest wicket-taker for SRH. For some time, he was the purple cap holder for the team, but his team-mate Bhuneshwar Kumar has gone past him now. He has been the bowler to watch out for in the SRH team. All will depend on how Rashid Khan bowls because the KKR have batsmen like Gambhir, Uthappa, Manish Pandey and others who play spin pretty well.
David Warner – The skipper has been leading them well. His wicket was the turning point of the SRH innings in their previous match. After he fell for 49, no other batsmen made efforts to play the anchor’s role. Like Gambhir, Warner too is the backbone of SRH batting. His wicket may turn the tables.
Yuvraj Singh – The southpaw played well against RCB but he failed to make a mark against Mumbai Indians. Against KKR he will be relishing to face Narnie and Co. He will surely look to make this opportunity count.
Mustifizur Rahaman – The comeback of this young pacer wasn’t impressive. However, it would be interesting to see how he goes against the KKR batting line up.
