The two-time IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders will take on Gujarat Lions in the 3rd match of the Indian Premiere League, Season 10 at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot on Friday.
The KKR will be led by experienced Gautam Gambhir, while Gujarat Lions will be at the command of Suresh Raina who is still in his learning curve as far as captaincy skills are concerned.
Both the teams have champion players in their side and they look good on the paper. Before the start of this 3rd match we bring you the list of the players to watch out in the match.
The players to watch for from Gujarat Lions:
• Suresh Raina – The skipper has tremendous experience playing the shortest format. He is the T20 star for India and the leading run scorer in the IPL history. He can be a match winner as apart from his bat, he can contribute with the ball as well. His four overs can be crucial for the team.
• Brendon MCcullam and Jason Roy – They both are terrific openers for their countries. Both have aggressive batting styles. Gujarat Lions will depend on their opening start because these two can maximise the scoring in the first six overs.
• Dwayne Bravo – The West Indian all rounder is best when it comes to IPL and the T20 format. His four over will always be crucial. He can score some quick runs lower down the order. He can make a difference to the team’s score towards the end overs.
• Shadab Jakati – This spin bowler played an important role with the Chennai Super Kings. Skipper Suresh Raina knows him well because Raina was also the part of the CSK squad. So don’t be surprised if Raina uses Jakati to open the bowling with Dwayne Bravo. If Jakati could pick some quick wickets then Gujarat Lions will have a chance. As Ravindra Jadeja, Gujarat Lion’s main player, is injured, Shadab Jakati is the spin bowler to watch out for.
The Kolkata Knight Riders players to watch out for:
• Gautam Gambhir – The skipper will again have a huge role to play if KKR want to win the title for the 3rd time. He has been a terrific opener for KKR over the years and his captaincy skills too has been brilliant. He is the player to watch out for.
• Yusuf Pathan – The dashing middle order batsman has been excellent in IPL, first for Rajasthan Royals and now for Kolkata Knight Riders. The KKR will be hoping that Yusuf continues his great T20 form this year as well.
• Trent Boult – This Kiwi fast bowler is one of the expensive players in this year’s IPL. Boult would be keen to make a positive statement with KKR. Boult has a great ability with the new ball.
• Shakib Ul Hasan – Another all rounder in the strong KKR squad, Shakib strengthens the KKR team. He well known for his power hitting and taking wickets at the regular intervals. This guy from Bangladesh is the player to be watch out for in this IPL.
